Alex Bomba is a true "wacken-fan"- and attended the festival for over 30 years (well it felt like!) - he is very well known as the only gay-metal promoter in the world. His musical world of anthrax and hammerfall crashed, when he first heard stochelo rosenbergs playing. since then he never played hardccore again and changed the festival from wacken to samois...:-)

BIO:

Simon Ort, was born in Würzburg, Germany.

simon

Simon Ort is a bassmaniac - soon in his life - he was not yet born!! -  he grew up with the thrilling sound of a doublebass, played by his mother. As a teenager he was more interested in the electric bass and joined several bands such as "Skyve" and others, Today he masters the doublebass and plays bass in the "hannes conrads band" - he is still involved in some other band projects - as a singer - such as "combo kanista" - also he is involved in some jazz duos and trios - all playing through the realbook - without forgetting that jazz-music is for everyone and should be played as popular street music. His love for the gypsyjazz grew with listening to bireli lagrene, tchavolo schmitt and django - and his father, who is a real "jazz manouche-maniac".

At the age of 13 he bought a cheap archtop guitar and learned to play as autodidact, Around 1975 he joined a local punk-rock band "The Mummenschanz". The band was soon part of the German New Wave Movement and toured through Germany with 50 gigs a year. They played the soundtrack of the "no future" generation.
During the eighties he switched to computer based music - and forgot the guitar. In these days he realised some multimedia projects in his own studio - combining sound, poetry, music, light, videos. With his partner he toured through Europe at many video and art festivals.

In the late nineties he discovered Django again -those were the sounds he heard, when he was a teenager: Schnuckenack Reinhardt, Titi Winterstein and the young Bireli Lagrene.

Today he is playing Djangos Music and other acoustic music in several bands and runs a guitarshop for selmer/maccaferri style guitars. He plays according to the motto: Jazz shoud not hit the street, but it should be played there - gadjo drom!
